FREMONT, NEB. – Morningside saw another tally added to its Great Plains Athletic Conference losses column after 86 minutes of scoreless play was broken up by a Midland goal with less than four minutes to go, handing the Mustang women a 1-0 loss.
The Mustangs were on the attack throughout the match, firing off eight shots on goal, led by Keyera Harmon and Mia Stoffel, with two each. Lily Sidel had a chance at the equalizer in the 88th minute, adding the final tally to Midland's Kyla Pires' save column.
Midland had just five shots on goal, with four resulting in saves for Kyla Syverson, who took the loss in goal.
The Mustangs are back in action on Saturday, when they host College of Saint Mary in a 1 p.m. contest.
