PAPILLION, NEB. – It took a 90-minute dogfight for the Mustangs and the Bellevue Bruins to emerge with a tie, as Morningside held Bellevue, who was receiving votes in the most recent National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics poll, to a scoreless draw.
The Mustangs held Bellevue to just seven shots and one shot on goal while rattling off 11 total shots, with seven on goal. Lisann Evert, Keyera Harmon, Melissa Tsatiris, Julie Raffel, Tuva Hammarlund, Sami Murray, and Emma Feigl all sent shots toward the Bruins goal, all safely intercepted by the keeper.
Kyla Syverson got the tie in Morningside's net, collecting a single save in the match.
The Mustangs are quiet for the next week, traveling to Hastings College on Wednesday, Sept. 18.
