
Mustangs down Tigers 3-1 in senior day showdown
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – It was scoreless through 45 minutes of cold, snowy play Saturday evening, but the Mustangs exploded for three scores in the second 45 to take down Dakota Wesleyan 3-1 at Elwood Olsen Stadium.

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – It was scoreless through 45 minutes of cold, snowy play Saturday evening, but the Mustangs exploded for three scores in the second 45 to take down Dakota Wesleyan 3-1 at Elwood Olsen Stadium.
It took 63 minutes for a score to happen, but once it started, the flood gates opened for Morningside. Keyera Harmon scored the first goal in the 64th minute. Lisann Evert was involved in the next two scores for the Mustangs, scoring on a pass from Tara Kelleher then recording an assist on a goal by Emma Feigl in the 86th minute.
Dakota Wesleyan put a shot in less than 30 seconds after Morningside's third, but couldn't do anything else to cut the lead.
Evert and Feigl scored on their only shots of the day. Harmon had two shots with one of them going in.
In goal, Isabel Ter Weeme recorded three saves in the first half and Kyla Syverson added one save in the second half.
As the regular season wraps up, Morningside finishes in a tie with Dordt for fourth in the conference at 7-3-2 in GPAC play. Dordt will get the four seed and host Morningside in the opening round of the conference tournament.
