Four goals in the first half lifts Morningside to 5-2 win over Lancers

YANKTON, S.D. – Four first-half goals was enough as the Mustangs took down Mount Marty 5-2 in Yankton Saturday night. 

Freja Brix Rasmussen got the party started with a goal five minutes in. The next two scores were by Roselynn Bosman, with a Julie Raffel assist on the first of the two. Bosman's goals came within a minute of each other. Keyera Harmon added a goal at the 17-minute mark. Ellie Gengler's goal in the 78th minute was padding to the lead.

Tara Kelleher and Isa Carlsson tallied three shots on goal each. Isabel Ter Weeme recorded one save in goal.

Morningside is sixth in the conference entering the final week. The Mustangs are one point behind College of Saint Mary and Midland, and one point ahead of Dakota Wesleyan.

Morningside has matches against the Flames and Tigers to round out conference play this week.
