First-half goal lifts Morningside to victory

SEWARD, Neb. – There was one unbeaten team in conference action entering play Wednesday night, and the Mustangs made it zero with a 1-0 win over the previously unbeaten Concordia in Seward, Nebraska.

The Bulldogs were 4-0-1 in GPAC play before Wednesday's loss to the Mustangs. Morningside was 2-1-2 entering play Wednesday.

Morningside had more shots and shots on goal in the match. Morningside's six shots on target was more than Concordia's four total shots. The Mustangs' leading scorer got it done again Wednesday night, scoring an unassisted goal in the 25th minute that would be the game winner.

In goal, Kyla Syverson earned her first win and recorded two saves. In the field, Lisann Evert led the team with two shots on goal and Roselynn Bosman led the Mustangs with four shots. 

Morningside is back home to take on Dordt Saturday at Elwood Olsen Stadium at 8 p.m.
