DES MOINES, Iowa – A goal in each half gave Morningside a 2-0 win over Grand View and improved the Mustangs record against NAIA opponents to 3-0-1, and 4-1-1 overall, on the season.
The first half goal came in the 38th minute as Lily Sidel put one in on an assist from Roselynn Bosmann. Morningside out-shot Grand View 7-0 in the half and 12-7 for the match.
In the second half, Tara Kelleher scored unassisted to double the Mustang lead. Strong defense from Morningside kept Grand View out of the goal, and gives the Mustangs their first shutout of the season.
Morningside starts GPAC play Wednesday against Waldorf at Elwood Olsen Stadium.
