Mustangs suffer loss at Northwestern
ORANGE CITY, Iowa — The Morningside women’s basketball team faced a tough road matchup on Wednesday, falling to Northwestern 90-64.

ORANGE CITY, Iowa — The Morningside women's basketball team faced a tough road matchup on Wednesday, falling to Northwestern 90-64.
Morningside went back-and-forth with the Red Raiders, but Northwestern went on a 10-2 run to take the lead for good.
Lily Vollertsen led the Mustangs (10-10, 8-6 GPAC) with 17 points and four rebounds. Alexis Spier hit three 3-pointers en route to an 11-point game. She also had four assists, while Chaise Pfanstiel had five.
Jordyn Carr had four rebounds.
Morningside forced 20 turnovers from Northwestern, even with six Red Raiders scoring in double figures.
The Mustangs are off this weekend, but return home Wednesday, Jan. 29, with a GPAC tilt against No. 1 Dordt.
