Harrel's hot streak continues as Mustangs get wins 19 and 20 over College of Saint Mary

SIOUX CITY, IOWA – The bat of Mackenzi Harrel continued its hot streak as the Mustangs checked the boxes for season wins no. 19 and 20 today, moving to 20-12 and 8-4 in the conference on the season, with a Great Plains Athletic Conference sweep of College of Saint Mary, 11-2 and 7-4. 

Harrel, who had 5 runs batted in yesterday, had seven additional RBIs in today's two contests, including six on a pair of home runs and a triple in today's opener. Harrel was joined in the home run club by Emma Barwick, who had a two run blast. Jenna Skraski and Addyson Maxell also had RBIs and Jalyn Noelle added a double to the extra base hits column.

On the basepaths, Paige Schuster and Ellie Gengler joined Noelle, Harrel, Jenna Skradski, and Barwick, all coming around to score. Barwick had a pair of stolen bases and Emme Dietrich swiped one.

Adeline Fliege got the win in today's opener in complete game fashion, limiting CSM to five hits with four strikeouts. 

Jordan Skradski got the win in game two, throwing 3.1 innings in relief. She gave up three hits for one run in the outing.

Gengler led the way at the plate in the nightcap, with three RBIs and two doubles. Lainie Keller and Harrel each had a two-bagger and an RBI, and Maxell and Barwick each added RBIs.

Morningside continues its condensed schedule of games, as the previously postponed Concordia contests are coming up at Jensen Softball Complex on Tuesday beginning at 3 p.m.
