
Mustangs add road wins at Mount Marty to GPAC record
YANKTON, S.D. – Morningside kickstarted another streak on the softball diamond today, picking up a pair of wins over Mount Marty, 3-1 and 10-7.

YANKTON, S.D. – Morningside kickstarted another streak on the softball diamond today, picking up a pair of wins over Mount Marty, 3-1 and 10-7.
Morgan Secora hurled a complete game in the day's opener, giving up just one run while striking out two in the pitcher's duel.
Secora was backed by eight hits, led by Paige Schuster and Jalyn Noelle, with two each. Lillian Harris accounted for two of the runs driven in, scoring Secora and Jenna Skradski in the contest. The game's first run was scored by Mackenzi Harrel, crossing the plate as Secora reached first on an error.
The Mustangs had to come back in the day's finale after giving up six runs in the first two innings. It was a Schuster home run and a Jenna Skradski double that opened the taps in the fourth inning, followed by a fifth inning that saw six singles and a double strung together to bring six runs and give Morningside the lead for good.
Schuster's homer was joined in the extra base hits category by a triple for Josie Hernandez and three doubles for Jenna Skradski. Schuster (2), Ellie Gengler, Harrel (2), Hernandez (2), Jenna Skradski, and Emma Barwick all had RBis in the contest as Morningside tallied 16 hits.
Jordan Skradski got the win in game two, throwing the final three frames with zero earned runs and a strikeout. Maggie Fisher took over in the second inning and threw three while giving up two runs, one of which was earned.
Morningside is currently slated to open the Jensen Softball Complex Friday at 3 p.m. as Concordia comes to town, with College of Saint Mary playing the role of visitor on Saturday at 1 p.m.
