Morningside's day started with a resounding 45-3 victory over Hastings, with the Broncos scoring in just one match. Noah Thorsen quickly got on the board winning the 125-pound match via pin in 31 seconds. Hunter Steffans added a pin in 1:45 in the 141-pound match, and Chris Aragon added a third pin to Morningside's total in 2:55.
Caden Eggleston won a 13-7 decision before a string of four Morningside pins by Blaine Christo in 1:39, Alex Vandyke in 2:13, and Carson Turnis in 1:06 really made the match lopsided. Bryce Kwiecinski added a 7-1 decision and Jakob Jerabek won 1-0 to conclude the match.
The Mustangs kept rolling against Midland, winning 38-16. Thorsen started the dual with a 20-4 tech fall, getting the momentum in Morningside's favor. Christian Ahrens added six to the team total with a win via forfeit, and Steffans got a pin in 1:55 to give Morningside a 17-0 lead.
Eggleston added a 15-0 tech fall, Braedyn Rakes had a pin in 1:43, Turnis received a forfeit, and Alex Vandyke picked up an 8-0 victory to cement the Mustangs' win.
Morningside's fortunes were reversed in the final match of the regular season, as Blaine Christo was the only Mustang to add to the team score, winning a 7-6 decision over Doane.
The GPAC Tournament is next on Morningside's schedule, taking place Feb. 21 and 22 at Hastings.
