Ernst, McGill lead Mustangs in season-opening tournament

WICHITA, KAN. – The Mustangs saw some strong competition this weekend as they competed in the Falcon Open. 

John McGill made his Mustang debut with a five-win day, collecting a 17-2 tech fall, falls in 5:52 and 1:11, and major decisions with scores of 15-7 and 18-9.

Zander Ernst matched McGill's day with a 22-7 tech fall, a 10-1 major decision, decisions of 8-1 and 6-2, and an injury forfeit.

Morningside is off this week, but back on the mat to compete in the Grand View Open in Des Moines on Nov. 16.
