
Mustangs make it four in a row with win over St. Ambrose
DAVENPORT, IOWA – Morningside clashed with a familiar opponent in men’s volleyball action as the Mustangs swept the Fighting Bees of St. Ambrose to open a seven-game road series. The Mustangs were in control throughout the match, winning 25-22, 25-16, and 25-18.

Morningside amassed 35 kills in the weekend opener, led by Isaiah Baynes, Michael Padilla, and Branton Jones with six terminations apiece. Tharen Cox had five kills and Sam Benick had four. Jacob DePauw tallied 27 assists to go along with his three kills on the night.
Owen Anderson was the frontrunner in the Mustangs' defensive game, tallying 10 digs. Baynes followed with five and Padilla and DePauw had four apiece.
Morningside totaled five blocks as a team, with Cox getting his hands on all five points that ended on the Bees' side of the net. Baynes also had a pair of block assists.
The Mustangs travel to William Penn in Oskaloosa, Iowa next where they'll play the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy at 2 p.m. and William Penn at 5 p.m.
