
Halder headlines weekend at USD as Mustangs record new personal, season bests
VERMILLION, S.D. – Conditions may not have been perfect as Morningside Track and Field competed at the USD Early Bird meet this weekend. That didn’t stop the Mustangs from having a notable day, though, as numerous personal and season bests fell on the day.

Parker Halder placed 49th in the 1,500-meter run, setting a new personal record with a time of 4:12.94, Austin Ramold crossed 81st with a new season best time of 4:35.23, and Oscar Benitez placed 95th with a PR of 5:10.11. Eein McKinley added a season best in the 5,000-meter run, with a time of 16:58.48.
In field events, Tom Moss placed eighth in the javelin throw with a distance of 41.11 meters and Lynx Gregoire made his season debut in the long jump with a leap of 5.79 meters.
The Mustangs return to competition next weekend in familiar territory, as the Sioux City Relays take place at the Elwood Olsen Stadium.
