
Freiberg, Hernandez conclude seasons at NAIA Nationals
MARION, IND. – The Mustangs wrapped up a successful 2023 outdoor track season at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Outdoor National Championships where David Hernandez and Austin Freiberg competed in the 400-meter and 110-meter hurdles respectively.
MARION, IND. – The Mustangs wrapped up a successful 2023 outdoor track season at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Outdoor National Championships where David Hernandez and Austin Freiberg competed in the 400-meter and 110-meter hurdles respectively.
Freiberg headlined the week's competition for the Mustangs, earning NAIA All-America honors in the 110-hurdles. The junior from Sergeant Bluff ran a qualifying time of 14.13 seconds to advance to yesterday's finals, where he placed no. 8 with a 14.66 second race.
Hernandez circled the track in 54.76 seconds, finishing in the top-20 spots in the country. The senior concluded his collegiate career with a fifth-place finish in the second heat of the 400-hurdles.
