Nine land on NAIA scholar-athlete list for men's track and field, cross country

KANSAS CITY, MO. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced its Daktronics Scholar Athletes for women's track and field and cross country, releasing this year's list as the 2023 NAIA National Track and Field Championship got underway in Marion, Ind.

Morningside had 9 athletes receive the scholar-athlete distinction this year, Adam Fillipi, Austin Freiberg, Davon Brees, Isaac Henn, Issa Aman, Jared Nicholas, Jonah Gleason, Mason Welker, and Thomas Moss.

In order to qualify for the NAIA scholar athlete program, a student-athlete must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5, appear on a sport's eligibility certificate, and have attended one full year at the current institution.
