
Eight Mustang events finish in top-10 at Mount Marty
YANKTON, S.D. – Fair weather has been tough for the Mustangs to find as this spring has progressed, but the Morningside men’s track and field team found just that tonight at the Mount Marty Twilight meet.
YANKTON, S.D. – Fair weather has been tough for the Mustangs to find as this spring has progressed, but the Morningside men's track and field team found just that tonight at the Mount Marty Twilight meet.
The 4x400-meter relay was the showcase event for Morningside tonight as the Mustangs had three teams competing. The "A" team took first place, as Ashton Banker, Kadyn Cline, Davon Brees, and David Hernandez completed the 3,200-meter race in 3:22.78. The "B" crew of Casey Kruger, Parker Halder, RC Hicks, and Tanner Arens took sixth, finishing in 3:36.37, and the "C" team of Chayton Rowe, Rodrigo Lopez, Jose Lopez, and Austin Ramold took ninth, finishing in 3:46.21.
Austin Freiberg was the medalist in the 400-meter hurdles, crossing the line in 55.30, out-leaning teammate Hernandez, who crossed in 55.36 for second place.
Also at the 400-meter distance, Cline completed his obstacle-free lap in 50.79 seconds.
Banker finished fourth in the 100-meter dash, sprinting down the straightaway in 10.89 seconds.
Garrett Hanson finished inside the top-10 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, finishing ninth with a time of 10:38.04.
The Mustangs head to Lincoln, Neb. this weekend, where they will compete in the Nebraska Wesleyan Invite.
