
Mustangs split up for weekend competitions
The Morningside men’s track and field program was split up this weekend, as the track portion of the team competed at the Central Methodist Invite Saturday. The throwers competed at the Mustang Open in Cedar Rapids, Iowa Saturday.

Austin Freiberg won the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 14.53, which is under the 'A' Standard for NAIA National Qualifying.
Ashton Banker placed fourth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.73. Jake Knott took eighth in the event at 11.23 seconds. Banker also took third in the 200-meters in a time of 21.98. Freiberg ran 22.35 in the 200.
Tyler Janssen ran 2:00.36 in the 800 to place fifth. In the 5,000-meters, Levi Son ran 17:08.9 to place ninth. David Hernandez placed fourth in the 400-meter hurdles at 57.22.
In the men's 400-meter relay, Davon Brees, Banker, Knott, and Freiberg ran 43.82 to place third in the race. The 1,600 team of Tyson Spradling, Kadyn Cline, Brees, and David Hernandez ran 3:27.8 to place fifth.
In Cedar Rapids, Jonathan Hodges threw 43.23 meters in the javelin. Teammate Tom Moss threw 39.28 meters.
