Bio

Stan Simpson leads Morningside's Throws group and assists with strength and conditioning for the throwers.

In more than two decades at Morningside, Simpson has coached several Great Plains Athletic Conference runners up and all-conference athletes, most notably coaching an NAIA National Champion in the javelin throw.

Simpson's knowledge of the event area is outstanding, but his most proud accomplishment is helping each and every student-athlete develop into an overall better person.

Prior to Morningside, Simpson was the  head boys track & field coach at Lawton-Bronson High School for 16 years. As a standout high school coach, he helped elevate the program to a state championship in 1991 and multiple state appearances. He coached Lawton-Bronson to 10 Maple Valley Conference championships in his 16 seasons as head coach and received a state coach of the year award in 1991 and a regional coach of the year award in 1995.

Simpson set a school record in the high hurdles during his prep career at Ogden High School in Iowa and was a four-year letterwinnner in track and football at Wayne State College.
