Mustangs finish strong at Grace Goblirsch Invitational

SAINT PETER, MINN. – The Mustangs had a number of strong finishes in this year's Grace Goblirsch Invitational, hosted by Gustavus Adolphus College.

John Spicer finished in the top five in three individual events, placing third in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:47.19, fourth in the 50-yard freestyle in 22.24 seconds, and fifth in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:05.43.

Jack La Rue, who was not far behind Spicer in the sprint, placed seventh in the 50-freestyle and third in the 100-freestyle with a time of 49.11 seconds.

Jake Bolda finished fourth in the 400-yard individual medley, touching in a time of 4:32.05, and fifth in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing in 58.76.

Morningside's 200-yard freestyle relay team of Justin Bay, La Rue, Cael Jensen, and Spicer finished third in the event, finishing in 1:31.13.

The Mustangs' next outing comes at the Pioneer Classic Invite in Grinnell, Iowa on December 6 and 7.
