Niklas Kneller provided Morningside's offensive spark, as one of his three shots on goal connected with the back of the net for a goal. He was assisted by Yannik Vogel, who had the Mustangs' only other shot on goal.
Tomon Koerber had three saves in the outing, taking the loss in goal.
Morningside is back in action on Saturday, when it travels to no. 7 Bellevue, facing the Bruins at 8 p.m. in Papillion, Neb.
