Mustangs Fall Short in Showdown at Olsen Stadium
SIOUX CITY, IOWA – Tasillo Koerner provided a spark, but the Mustangs were unable to get anything else going as they fell to Grand View, 2-1, today. The opportunistic Vikings took the lead with just over a minute off the clock, keeping Morningside in the rear view mirror the entire contest.
Koerner's goal, one of two shots on goal, came on an assist from Gustavo Dos Santos. Bennet Wesselkaemper matched Koerner's two shots on goal with a pair of his own.
Timon Koerber took the loss in goal for the Mustangs, splitting time in the contest with Tim Tescher, who had three saves in the second half.
Morningside is back at it on Saturday, when they play Kansas Wesleyan in Baldwin City, Kan.
