LEAVENWORTH, Kan. – For the third time in a week, the Morningside men's soccer team battled to a draw.
The Mustangs played to a 1-1 draw at Saint Mary Monday afternoon. It's the third straight draw after splitting their first two games of the season.
Niclas Bickel scored first for Morningside, putting one into the net just over 29 minutes into the game. Before the half, Saint Mary evened the match with a goal of their own.
In the second half, Morningside was the aggressor, tallying seven shots to Saint Mary's one. Five of those seven shots were saved by Saint Mary. Outside of Saint Mary's goal, they didn't have a shot on goal in the match. Bickel had three shots, all on goal, in the match.
The Mustangs are back in action Saturday at Grand View before returning home to start conference play next week.
