
Mustangs take fourth at home competition
SIOUX CITY, IA – The Mustangs men’s bowling team placed fourth in its home competition Saturday and Sunday at Plaza Bowl in Sioux City.

Hastings, who swept the main tournament and match play, tallied 9,112 points during the main tournament. Iowa Western, Hawkeye Community and Morningside rounded out the top four and competed in the match play portion of the weekend.
The Mustangs were tasked with the challenge of going up against the top team during the main tournament in the semifinals of match play. Morningside won the first match with Hastings 204-171, but Hastings won the final two 214-146 and 204-133. Hastings went on to defeat Hawkeye Community in the championship of the match play event.
Dylan Hamil tallied 1,175 points to place inside the top ten overall and lead the Mustangs. Caleb Martin took 16th individually with 1,108 points. Nick Philthilath scored 1,089 points and Seth Nelson 946 in five games.
Morningside's next time on the lanes will be Dec. 18-21 in Las Vegas. The Mustangs partake in the Las Vegas Invite for the first two days and the Collegiate Shoot Out for the final two days.
