Football places 25 on scholar-athlete list

KANSAS CITY, MO. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced its Daktronics Scholar-Athletes for football, releasing this year's list ahead of the 2023 NAIA Football Championship being played in Durham, N.C.

Morningside had 25 athletes receive the scholar-athlete distinction this year, Brady Schlaeger, Brayden Cleeton, Bryson Freeberg, Cade Harriman, Cooper King, Dallas Kluender, Darien Rabe, Drew Benson, Dylan Hosek, Eli Murray, Fred Lageschulte, Gaige Heissel, Greg Clark, Hayden Thilges, Isaac Pingel, Jack Kratz, Jack Sievert, Jakob Jerabek, Jakob Nelson, Jon Andreasen, Kale Bird, KJ Williams, Lennx Brown, Mason Limbach, and Taylor Korth.

In order to qualify for the NAIA scholar-athlete program, a student-athlete must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5, appear on a sport's eligibility certificate, and have attended one full year at the current institution.
