SIOUX CITY, IOWA – The Yockey Family Community Room was again abuzz this weekend as esports teams representing members of the Great Plains Athletic Conference converged in the second week of the first-ever GPAC invitational event. Like last week's event, this week included qualifying play on Friday with a seeded tournament on Saturday.

Morningside's esports squad competed in Rocket League this weekend, going 2-3 in qualifying play with 3-0 wins over Doane and Hastings. 

Entering the tournament as the no. 6 seed, Morningside upset no. 4 Doane in a best-of-five series, 3-0, before falling to Midland in the semifinals. Midland would move on to the semifinals where it fell to Northwestern.

In the weekend's second title, Overwatch, Briar Cliff took the championship title over Northwestern.
