Mustangs voted second in preseason poll

SIOUX CITY – The Morningside University dance team on Tuesday was voted second in the Great Plains Athletic Conference coaches poll.

Morningside received one first-place vote and 41 points in the poll. That trailed only Midland, which garnered 47 points.

Last season, the Mustangs won the Dordt Invitational and the McPherson/Hastings Virtual Invitational. They placed third in the GPAC Championships and fourth in the NAIA Northwest Regional.

Competition for the Mustangs gets started Jan. 26 at Grand View.

The 2025 GPAC Cheer Championships are in Seward, Nebraska, at Concordia University on March 7.
