Nick Buth was named Morningside's sports information director ahead of the 2022-23 academic year, having had "assistant SID" in his list of responsibilities since late 2018. Nick previously held the title of Marketing and Content Coordinator in the University Engagement department, a role that focused on producing content, managing, and distributing content, supervising interns, and rebuilding content on the Morningside Athletics website.

A 2011 alumnus, Buth has had a presence on Morningside's campus since long before officially joining the Sports Information team in time for the 2018 fall sports season.  He joined the university's staff in 2013, finding a position to suit his technical know-how in the Information Services Department, while contributing photos to the Morningside archives on the side.  His work with audio technologies as part of IT has spilled over to continue to push for improvement in those areas of athletics video products, allowing Morningside to enhance the capabilities of its streaming offerings. 

Mustang fans have long been able to pick Nick out on the sidelines at athletic events, peering out from behind a camera's telephoto lens since early in his Morningside career.  He was a mass communications, graphic design, and photography triple major as a student, which led to involvement with KMSC and The Collegian Reporter, Morningside's student-run radio station and newspaper.
