OSKALOOSA, IOWA - The Mustangs suffered another tough loss in Heart of America Conference men's volleyball tonight, falling 25-22, 25-18, 25-14 to no. 15 William Penn tonight.
Mohamed Benkrid, Kirby Schmalz, and Jacob DePauw led Morningside's defensive efforts, with five digs apiece. Owen Anderson had four. Tharen Cox led the team at the defensive net with three total blocks.
It was Schmalz that led on the attack, striking for 10 kills. Natan Alves followed with seven and Benkrid had five. DePauw tallied 13 assists, with Donte Jennings notching 11 as the second setter in the rotation.
The Mustangs continue their Heart road trip tomorrow, playing no. 6 Grand View at 1 p.m.
