Quick Facts Saturday is Senior Day for football, band, cheer, and dance. All four groups will have their seniors honors before the game. Morningside is entering Saturday’s game off a conference loss for the first time since the 2014 regular season finale against Doane. The Mustangs responded with a win against No. 13 Ottawa in the first round of the playoff. Againsts Northwestern, Ryan Cole moved into seventh all-time in rushing yards at Morningside with 2,188. To move into sixth, Cole needs 46 yards Saturday against the Defenders. Lonell Boyd Jr. and Dijion Walls are up to 10 career interceptions each. Boyd Jr. has five this season and his 276 career interception return yards is fifth most in school history. Walls has three this season and is tied for sixth all-time with 240 interception return yards. Another defender climbing the career record books is Jamal Jones. Jones is second all-time with 368 interception return yards. He is the franchise record holder with five interception return touchdowns.
